About the Project

The Cultural and Creative Industries Innovation Fund (CIIF) is a Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) initiative. The CDB-CIIF initiative supports the Creative/Cultural Industries (CI) sector development, and encourage innovation, job creation and improved enterprise sustainability in Caribbean countries. CIIF has partnered with the Central Statistical Office, Saint Lucia, Dr. Vanus James and Canaan Bridges Consulting Inc., to develop and execute an Intellectual Property Data Collection Accelerator Training program targeting key stakeholders across four countries (Saint Lucia, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada). The Caribbean IP Data Accelerator project is an accredited certificate program that includes an experiential learning component. The online course will be facilitated by the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College in St. Lucia.

Objective

The project aims to transfer relevant and timely knowledge to key stakeholder groups and equip the region’s talent with key capacity to support development of a globally competitive regional creative industry. Its expected outcome is  growth in the Caribbean region’s capacity to monitor and measure the contribution of the cultural and creative industries to output, employment and trade, towards sustainable development in the region. When cultural and creative industries are effectively valorised, the outcome  impacts right holders, related and non-related industries, and can lead to growth and development in the economy.
